Redefining flatness- Android L

During the time of the launch of the first iPhone there was so much hype about how the interface design could lead to the change in perception of the fashion of mobile interfaces.

There was(and still is) too much emphasis on icons resembling to real life objects and landscape backgrounds.

Then came windows with its revamped metro UI and flatness griped the world. People went berserk creating flat icons, themes, wallpapers and even completely revamping the mobile OS.

This change of perception was so huge that it forced apple and google to upgrade their operating systems to a more flatter look. Apple released ios 7 and google released Android Kitkat.

As always Google learns from its mistakes and now has released Android L which focuses on material design and is sure to rock the world of mobile interfaces. It is being seen as a huge designing overhaul and people are loving the change in the developer preview version released by Google. Google has once again made the right decision to take lead of the mobile interface designing and pushing it on their android platform rather than following Microsoft or Apple. Here are some pictures of the material design on android L.

Great job Google! By the way what does the L stand for?
