First principle thinking
First principle thinking - where for a given problem/problem set and break it down till it’s most fundamental concepts/ labels - the things we absolutely know to be true and then work our way up from there.
Feynman also talks about a technique about learning - when we struggle we know that there is a gap in our knowledge or a blind spot. Struggling is an emotion - which says that we are trying to fix it. This is good. We need to accurately identify the area where we are stuck - and then try solving problems, gathering knowledge and finally test it on someone - try to explain that concept and see if we are fully convinced with the explanation. There might be other blind spots and we work on them.
Writing to explain something is also good.
