A writing style: Sam Harris meets Andrej Karpathy

From a conversation with ChatGPT. Only my side is shown.

I am trying to describe a hybrid writing style inspired from both sam harris and andrej karpathy.

Sam harris - is extremely good at removing all the fear based clutter around a thought and helping the audience extend their boundaries of imagination by transposing complex thought into everyday objects or relationships. Eg he compares the relationship between AI and humans to humans and dogs. He is highlighting the threat of a much greater intelligence by asking the audience to imagine the following scenario: suppose there is a deadly virus which is killing human kids and is transmitted from dogs, no matter how much we love our dogs if the only choice to protect all our collective kids was to kill all dogs, we would not think for a split second about it. This helps us build the intuition of being in presence of much greater intelligence - it’ goals might be completely alien to us Similarly

Andrej is an expert in breaking down abstraction and drilling down to the absolute basics or first principles and then building everything back up. He gives a mathematical scale to ‘feel’ the abstractions. Eg he build GPT2 by explaining the back propagation algorithm, and coding the gradient by applying the limits (hand calculation) and then building everything back up to the level of a nano or micro GPT. This method gives a very good understanding of highly complex abstraction by using simplistic terminology.
