Thinking as a sine wave

From a conversation with Grok. Only my side is shown.

I want to understand how most people think and how is it different from how deep thinkers think - Currently I believe thinking is a process like a sine wave - where the crest is letting the mind wander (loosing the sense of self) and the trough is putting it in perspective of your embodied self (and all the memories and experience of it) - which is a sort of integration the new information/ experience gained in the crest part.

Variations here can be:

  1. high frequency thinking process, very frequent occurrences of crests and troughs - these can be events like high speed driving where perception and integration loops have to be quick (making a lot of quick short term decisions)
  2. Low frequency thinking process: very large sensory loops followed by long thinking periods (examples can be day dreaming, taking a shower etc )
  3. erratic or out of sync crests and troughs - these can be periods of stress, where thinking and sensation can often get stuck without any periodicity
